squid cache error

Hello All,

Have looked up this error and used the squid command max_open_disk_fds 0, but squid still reports that it is loading with 1024 file descriptors and gives the following errors in the squid cache log. Service will stop until squid reloads itself. Any ideas?? Have also tried using the squid command redirector_bypass on, but with no luck. The only thing that seems to work is to turn off transproxy....this is bad, because it eats up more bandwidth......TIA

I have the same problem. Did you ever fix this?

I tried setting the cache_mem in squid.conf and setting ulimit -HSn 8192 but I don't think that worked.

Anybody else? Check your squid/cache.log file.

Yes, I have the same issue on two separate server at two separate locations. One of them is reporting IP addresses which I'm checking for.
The bad side effect to this problem is that squid has to restart and causes users to lose their internet connection (Services that need to go through squid) for a while. Sometimes it doesn't get fixed by itself, someone has to restart squid manually.
Could it be some virus on the network using all the squid cache available?
