Me too..... although mine was header #373

I filed a bugreport, which gave me this response....
---------------------------

Well, that rpm seems fine on our side. That error seems rather obscure,
from what I've been able to find via google.

I suggest you try downloading the rpms again, and check those md5sums.
Also, you don't need to reinstall all those packages. A simple "freshen"
should work fine (granted, our README says to do it).

rpm -Fvh *.rpm

I also saw a similar error

Note that I had already updated my version of samba rpms to 2.2.8a and removed the samba 2.2.7 rpms from the upgrade5 folder before doing the upgrade

I then ran the upgrade instal without any samba rpms and that's when I got the error message

I then copied the samba 2.2.8a rpms into the upgrade folder and reran the instal

First I did
rpm -e SMEServer-5.6_Update4-02
rpm -e SMEServer-5.6_Update5-02
and repeated the upgrade installation

The instal then worked fine without errors.

So did any of you guys remove some of the rpms from the instal ?
That may be the source of the error message.

I got similar messages. I was using the --replacepkgs option. As I was upgrading one box, I took a little more note as to what was causing the problem, and it was SMEServer-5.6_Update4-02.noarch.rpm. I tried to install it without the replace option, and it reported it was already installed, so I installed SMEServer-5.6_Update5-02.noarch.rpm, and it installed fine. I had already installed update 4 on all boxes

I tried Update5 using

# rpm -Uvh --replacepkgs *.rpm

in the ensuing feedack I got

9:openssh-server  warning: /etc/ssh/sshd_config created as /etc/ssh/sshd_config.rpmnew
##### [ 39%]

and

13:samba-common  warning: /etc/samba/smb.conf created as /etc/samba/smb.conf.rpmnew
###### [ 56%]

Except for sysmon I had a plain vanilla SME5.6u4.

Is this a failed update or just an obscure success?

It is a perfectly normal success.  Now run

#/sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade
#/sbin/e-smith/signal-event reboot

Thanks for info and the quick response Dan.

I neglected to say that I did follow up with the other two commands

> /sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade
> /sbin/e-smith/signal-event reboot

Then in that case, you should be just fine.

It seems there was a rpm in the latest 5.6 update that should not have been there. Let's callit a rsync 'hickup'...

The update4 file should not be in update5, if you have that one downloaded and is in your update5 dir, just remove it.

Then perform the update as described.

Even with the error, the rpm install appears to work fine. If you're
worried, reinstall update 5. This may be simply exposing an obscure rpm
bug, and an apparently harmless one at that.

Let us know if anything is actually broken. I see nothing wrong with my
test server here.

Yes!!!!!!!!
As RequestedDeletion said. I removed the file SMEServer-5.6_Update4-02.noarch.rpm and then, applied the patch as described in the readme file.
It works well for me!!

Tanks a lot
