We have a problem in that our ISP has been taken over and service is now almost non-existant. During a changeover on their servers they basically disabled everything that had been setup for individual clients previously and have no intention of putting them back in place. Part of our problem is that we have a dialup connection that is permanently connected during work hours (8am - 6pm) and mail to our domain is hosted by our ISP for anything received overnight. We used to get our overnight email as soon as we logged on in the morning but this is now not happening and delays of up to 3 hours occur after a weekend. I queried our ISP on this and they have indicated that we would need to send an ETRN command from our email server to our ISP's email server as soon as we connect in order to retrieve our mail immediately. Currently our E-Smith server is setup for Standard email retrieval (which during work hours is what we want). Is there a way of automatically sending the required ETRN command on dialup or do we need to convert to ETRN retrieval instead of standard retrieval?
