How does one properly post a URL?
« on: October 18, 2003, 08:19:57 AM »
I would like to know how the e-smith.org message board will turn a URL in a message body into a html hyper-link.  I have seen this done in other posts, and if a quote a _very_ long url, it should be just a click away for the page.

Thank-you!

I found this on the demo phorum board

Syntax is
[u rl=http://e-smith.org]E-Smith[/u rl]
(not including space in 'url'

to give
E-Smith

I found this url:
http://www.iezzi.ch/phorum/index.php

And now I will try it out...

Phorum code
As of Phorum 3.3.2, users can use Phorum Code to spice up their posts.
Phorum Code is much like the standard way many message board systems mark up posts.
Examples:

http://phorum.org Creates an url that is linked.
phorum.org Links the text 'phorum.org' to http://phorum.org.
email@address.com Creates a linked email address
Creates an image tag that will show that image.
Bold Text
Underlined Text
Italicized Text Makes the text bold, underlined, or italicized.
Centered Text
Centers text.
Quote
Does this quote text?
This will indent the text inside the tags.
Tags can be combined:

Phorum will also automatically link urls that are inside <>.

To make a hyperlink use:

...without any spaces.
