Topic: Recreated account, now can't activate it...

I followed the posted advice on recreating a previously deleted account, which worked fine, but now I appear unable to set the password of the account and activate it.

The line in /etc/passwd reads:

link:x:5001:5001:bucks gaylink:/home/e-smith/files/users/link:/bin/sshell

while in /home/e-smith/accounts it reads:

link=user|City|Milton Keynes|Company|Q:space|Dept||EmailForward|local|FirstName|*|ForwardAddress||Gid|5001|LastName|gaylink|PasswordSet|no|Phone|*|Street|*|Uid|5001

Setting the user password in server-manager simply results in a blank screen, and none of the files are amended.

Anyone got any ideas? Alternatively, if this has been previously answered, could someone point me in the right direction? The only thing I could find was http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=18708.msg73758#msg73758
