Strange HylaFax problem
« on: November 11, 2003, 07:44:48 AM »
I've been running Hylafax without any problems for over a year now. I have two lines setup on a rotary so that if one line is busy it automatically diverts to the other line at the exchange. I have faxgetty running on both modems which are set to answer after one ring. If for some reason the server goes belly up I also have a manual fax on the same line set to answer after 6 rings. I've recently upgraded to 6.0b3 and twice now after about two or three weeks the faxes start diverting to the manual fax machine. I checked the logs and there's nothing obvious. hfaxd and faxq are both running, faxgetty is running on both the serial ports. It's as if the modems stopped hearing the incoming call. Anyone have any suggestions before I go and swap the modems?

Before the modem swap, try to run the faxaddmodem command again to install the modems, then install the modems on a windows machine to rule them out.

Is the digiboard new to your upgrade? Try running the 2 modems on your regular com1: and com2: lines.

Try updating the digiboard software.
