I am trying to use a XP remote client through a VPN connection to my SME server. The VPN connetion is fine, but i can not se the I bays on the SME server when using Explorer on the XP machine. Explorer says fails to find "192.168.1.2 server".

What´s bygging me is that i am having a W2K remote client on the same location,  connected to the same gateway and DHCP server. With the W2K machine if have absolutly no trouble seing the I bays when using Explorer. Can anybody help out here?

Thanks
Kristian

Hi Kristian,

I usually just right click My Network places, and go to local lan connections in there you need to click the radio button Enable Netbios over TCP/IP, use these steps below:

Local Lan Properties->Properties-> TCP IP Protocol->Properties->Advanced->Wins

Additionally if you are using SME 6 then go to /home/e-smith/files/server-resources/regedit and apply the "winxplogon.reg' registry patch to your WinXP machines.
