SMTP server keeps going down.

I don’t know what is going on with my SMTP server. Every ten min or so it stops working. When I try to send an email it tells me the server is not responding. Everything ells looks to be working. I can still receive email. My server is getting hit with a lot of junk mail. I have black lists running and I have applied the fix for double bounces.

Here is bit of my qmail log file.  If you look at the end you will se the SMTP error. What could be causing this? When I restart the server it works again for 10m to half an hour then it happens all over again.
