Hello,
I've currently have one pop3 box at my ISP for which I can define multiple aliases (the e-mail adresses however always have to be "user@isp.com"). I would like to 'abuse' these aliases to create multiple mailboxes. The e-smith server should retrieve all mail from the pop account and then deliver the mail to the right 'local' mailbox.
The problem is that if I create a virtual domain "isp.com", create users that match the aliases and setup pop3 retrieval and it works great.
The problem however is that every dns lookup for "something.isp.com" does not get resolved . So I have got mail retrieval from one account to multiple mailboxes, but I cannot reach any server at my isp any more.
How can I fix this? Do I configure something wrong? What should be the way to go for this?
PS: I'm using the latest unsupported 6.0 release.
PS: I've tried the fetchmail contrib, tried a lot, but did not succeed.
PS: The nslookup tool (windows) gives me the following info:
----------------------------------------------------
Server: e-smith"
Address: e-smith ip"
*** e-smith can't find smoething.isp.com: Non-existant domain
