Hello I installed the packages from pagefault.org. see

Everything seemed to go fine during installation and I now have the secure email manager panel, but I cannot get secure smtp to work. Any troubleshooting ideas would be much appreciated.
This is sme 5.6, I turned everything on for external access, etc.
I go into outlook express and tell it to authorize for smtp with same username/pass as for pop. I go into advanced and tell it to use ssl on port 465. When I go to send mail it gives me the no connection to smtp server error message.
I have also tried turning on "secure password authentication" although I do not think this is correct, but it does not work. I have also tried leaving the port on standard, turning off ssl, etc. Nothing works.
