Hi All,
I have hit that wonderful point where our 40GB hard disks are no longer large enough for our business.
I would like to ask for some assistance on how to upgrade them to 80GB.
They are in a software RAID 1 array on a 5.6 box.
I have tried ghosting to a larger hard disk with Norton Ghost, using
ghost -clone,mode=copy,src=1,dst=2,sze1=F,sze2=F,sze3=V -sure
This should faithfully copy the first 2 partitions and resize the 3rd, and it seems to work on our 'non software raid' test server.
However, none of the software at my disposal seems to recognise or resize the software raid disks, and I end up with my 80GB disk only using 40GB of partitions (direct copy without resizing). They simply don't show as linux ext3 partitions within the software (they show as unknown).
I have tried Norton Ghost and Partition Manager 7.0 and 8.0.
I now have the 80GB drives physically in the server, but the partition sizes are still 40GB and there is 40GB of unused disk space.
I would prefer not to go through the heartache of a fresh install and backup, as we have number of contribs (such as Hylafax and others) that will take a significant time to resetup.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction on how to resize this partition or properly ghost (with resizing) the disk........
regards
Paul
