SMTP AUTH is " ..an SMTP service extension [ESMTP] whereby an SMTP client may indicate an authentication mechanism to the server, perform an authentication protocol exchange, and optionally negotiate a security layer for subsequent protocol interactions. This extension is a profile of the Simple Authentication and Security Layer [SASL]. "

Hello
Is there someone who use a qmail auth. so  that the e-smith server on our company can relay e-mail for some people who are out the office and they have a dialup to another ISP, so that they can send e-mail through a our e-smith server with a username and password.

Thanks for your time.

Yes, that would be a wonderful thing to do. I always have users outside of the country, and if they could relay mail through my server, it would greatly reduce the amount of administration required to support these users.

Just to say that this would make my life a hell of a lot easier as well.
I've got several users that are on laptop's and it would be great if they could send through their office server.

Just to let everyone know, I have a solution to this problem, and will try to post it over the holidays.

I hope everyone has a great holiday season, and a happy new year.
