Hi,

did a search and could not find this one

for some reason I can not download a good iso to save my life
ran the md5sum on all of them and seem to get this answer every time

366409ded473e57131af83914d6f6245 *e-smith-4.1.2.iso

it should be :

5c215816e7dc592a78cf6a52a31da1bc  e-smith-4.1.2.iso

right?

tried download with win200pro netscape 4.77 and ie 5.?
then win 98se both browsers tried different mirrors

even tried to burn a cd with it and it was toast of course

the bad thing is a friend on the net and i were racing to set up
e-smith servers and I think she now has a commanding lead

Trying using rysnc to get the images using the image you have now:

Cool!  If you can get on top of rsync, you'll be the first one out of the gates when future version are released.  Good luck.

looked at it and well in run200pro it was for nt so i did not want to  chance it

and the 95 thing was slanted to upload only

BUT!!!!

I thought is using the browser to download screwing me up?

downloaded wsftp (had it on old drive not on this one)

45 minutes later i got a checksum!
5c215816e7dc592a78cf6a52a31da1bc *e-smith-4.1.2.iso

Looks pretty tasty going to burn a cd and have a smoke

will let you know if it works

cowabunga!!!

I think i have it figured out.
when i used a browser to download the image it got it as asccii
when i used the ftp client it got it in binary

now I know if i had a linux box running i could of used vi to convert the ascii to binary (no it can be done not sure of the command though) but well i don't (yet)

Off to install my e-smith linux server
