Sorry...this is a cross-post from the Experienced User forum.  However, I see it as a valuable feature so I am placing it here in the wish list


How difficult would it be to enable a 'copy user' feature?  I see this as valuable for creating user templates.

An administrator would simply need to create a few templates that all of the correct permissions and group memberships.  Then by copying that user template (with a new user name, of course) you would have a new user ready to go with just a few clicks and putting in the proper name.  This would also be useful for renaming a user.  Simply copy the existing user to a new username and delete the original user.

Is this implementable as SME stands now?

Speaking of user accounts, the ability to set an expiry date on user accounts would be useful, perhaps even a date or frequency for them to change their password.
