*Linux 2.4 kernel
*Full backup similar to tape backup except to 'desktop'. Possibly a precompiled
tar.gz file that can be downloaded to a 'desktop'.
*Intrusion Detection System (and other components to make use of it as 'firewall' along with its already gateway functionality)
*Bandwidth/Network monitoring (by user, reports, etc.)
*QoS control per user primarily for bandwidth throttling
*Proxy access monitoring/reports per user (squid & sguard)
Please reply to this if you know of any solutions that already provide for any of these. E-smith seems to be a great product as it is, but I currently use it in conjunction with IPCop (smoothwall). It would be nice to remove the need for IPCop.
Thanks,
Steve
