Why put the startup fee for servicelink so far ($1800) or 100 users
when according to the survey on the e-smith.org homepage 50%
people have 1-10pcs on their network...

Why not put a $800 or $600 startup and see  if the number of registrations
rises.

Mayby for 100 users yes but 1 to 50 must be cheaper.

I was thinking the same thing. But I imagine tha problem is that the support would go up really high for the 1-50 users, thus not being cost effective for Mitel. Maybe if they would allow it, someone could setup a service link for the small user with less than 10 or 20 users. Personally I have set up a hosting company to host my real website and use their email. Then I have my e-smith as a just a dummy. This way I do not lose emails, but if I could pay for a hosting with a ETRN for mail, no my ISP does not do this, possibly add some virus scan options that would be great for the e-smith user

I interpret the survey to be directed at users of the free product.  I would expect the servicelink business users have bigger networks. I saw one of the trade rags peg linux server support starting at about $17000 per year from a leading brand.

 MITEL Servicelink is a great bargain for business networks in my opinion because they can avoid having to get a Linux expert to administer their server. In addition, they can get a local partner to yell at when things get confusing.  This can be worth a lot in peace of mind for business owners.
