Multisite Domain Mail Handling

Wish there was a setting for the SME server to try delivering local mails to locally defined accounts (even if it only works with the primary domain and not virtual domains). If it finds that the e-mail is addressed to someone in the domain but not defined locally, then forward the mail to another mail server for delivery / processing.

Eg.
Domain Called : mycompany.com
Company has 1 head office, multiple site offices with all mails handled by a primary mail server at the head office. Therefore, mail server at head office contains accounts of ALL staff members including those in site offices.

If mail arrives for joe@mycompany.com and joe works at site B, then the head office mail server drops the mail into a multidrop enabled mailbox for site B.

The SME server at site B will be setup for multidrop collection from the head office and picks up all mails in the multidrop mailbox for site B and then distributes the mails locally. Joe receives his mail. He then sends a mail to jane@mycompany.com who works at site C, as well as CC's a copy to john@mycompany.com who works at Site B as well. Site B's SME server looks at the mails, then looks at the local accounts, discovers that John is a local account and drops it into John's mailbox. Because Jane isn't a local account but is in the same domain, the SME server then passes the mail on to the defined master mail server for the domain (the head office) for processing and delivery.

While this is still not ideal (it would be nice that Site B will know than Jane actually is in Site C and delivery it directly to Site C, or that if a mail account is setup at any one site, the master list on the main server is automatically updated, but that's asking a lot), but it does address some issues about multi-site, single domain mail.
