Name problems - help/advice needed.
« on: July 11, 2001, 06:57:22 AM »
Hiya guys!

I'm trying to get "dual.names" to work with my domain.net adress, unfortently without any luck. What i'm trying to do is adding more than one single name to work with e-smith, like this : my.coolio.page.mydomain.net.

I do have a "alias" resolve on my domain.net, which means it resolves *anything.mydomain.net direct to my ip adress, but e-smith doesnt seeme to understand more than just "singel" names. eg. (my.coolio.page.mydomain.net = not working when you add "my.coolio.page" under hostnames and adresses), while adding (mycooliopage without the dots, in one single line, it works just fine).

What i'm i doing wrong?

Alejandro

You should use virtual domains instead.

I'm using the same, 4.1.2 - do you add the full qualified virtualhost+domain or just
virtualhost adress??

For the hostname entry I just added the test.test.test and did not include the domain.

for the virtual domains i inludec the full FQDN test.test.test.domain.co.za

hope this helps

Dean,

Thanks it worked, but it only seeme to work internal - * external it doesnt work.

*
External = when users outside try to access the virtualhost.
