It would be pretty nice if the admin console's configuration of server had options for enabling mx record supported by dyndns.

I would appreciate this. At the moment we have two SME-boxes running via DynDNS and dont use the mail-exchanger capabilities of them.

This is one of the many benefits of a ServiceLink subscription:

Hi Gordon,

Nice idea, I checked the link but didnt find exact information about the amount of money, I have to spend for the service link.
Im shure, service-link is very cheap if someone uses the complete services.

AFAIK lots of phorum-members use the sme-server for their home-network and therefore they need just one or two components from the service-link package.

What about splitting the service-link package into several rpms and selling them separately? The sum of the component-prices could be higher than the package-price.

Most of us do not want "a lunch for free" but the private users do not have enough hunger to order the whole service-link package.

with regards

Karl

I´d like to let you know about this:

http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/howtos/howto_14.htm

It seems to work... I have installed yesterday and I´m now wainting a week to see if this work (I sent a message to a address@mydomain who is without server and configurated as Sec MX on my server!)

Do it at your own risk...

will this act as a store and forward backup MX with this configuration?

Aparently yes. If my server is down I can see messages delivered on sec MX. After a while my server is up the message is on my mailbox.

I dont know how much time message remains on sec MX before to return (someone knows?)
