Topic: install an ide tape backup on a production server

I have seen this topic on the list before but just can’t find it.  I want to install an ide tape backup on a production server. Do I just turn the server off plug it in and turn the server back on and there I go. (I no a long shot) Could any of you point me in the right direction on how to do this? There server ver is 5.6.

what i've done:
- install the tape (SCSI) in the server
- install a SCSI-board into the server
- install the arkeia-backup-rpm
- configure the arkeia-backup
- wait until the next morning

the backup was done the way i configured it and the admin got an email that it was done.
everything went fine.
