Topic: Shutting down named

I want to shut down the named daemon but every time I shut down the service or kill the processes it immediately starts up again.

Can anyone help please?

/sbin/e-smith/config setprop $service-name status disable
 
where $service-name is the service - atalk, smb, lpd, or whatever.

I installed the control panel but named did not show up, however the "manual" method seems to have done the trick.
