Topic: Cacti on SME6.0?

Has anyone successfully installed cacti on SME6?

http://www.speedfactor.ath.cx/howto/ is written for 5.x, plus there have been some big updates to cacti since it was written...

I'm willing to be a guinea pig report back my results, but just thought i'd check first

Oh and I'm specifically wanting to use it to graph qmail  traffic, so if anyone has a better idea/method let me know please!

I have used two different applications that delivers the data in diferent manners.

I have used qmailmrtg7 http://www.inter7.com/mrtg.html on a none SME platform, when I worked for an ISP and liked that application alot. It fits into the other MRTG graphs and gives an good overview of what happens in the smtp/pop world.

isoqlog http://www.enderunix.org/isoqlog/ delivers the stats in a hard number manner.

My summary
- qmailmrtg7 is god for graphs and trends with 5 minutes intervalls.
- isoqlog is god at delivering summaries of what has happend in the email world.

My pref is qmailmrtg7 because I can correlate cpu usage with a high email load because the graphs are alike.

Thanks for that - I should have mentioned I already use IsoQlog... You're right, it's great for tracking down detailed stats, but i want to do exactly as you say and get an overview of email traffic, as well as virus-infected emails and bounces.  You can't beat graphs for giving the status of your system at a glance!
