Information Bays (ibays), password, and remote access
« on: February 03, 2004, 12:41:14 PM »
Hi All,

I have created some ibays on my SME server, and then set them to require password (Entire Internet require password), and then set password for the ibays, create users and groups, and assign the premission.

When i try the ibays from Internet (or internally), it require username and password (that's what i want).  Then i enter the user name and password i created before, i cannot get access after three try.  I tried all the user i create but no hope.

Anyone have idea?  Many Thanks

When you set an ibay to have password protected internet access the user name is the name of the ibay, not the user account name and the password that you have set. Eg; you make an ibay named data, and set the password to access you would login by using the external address http://wwww.SERVERNAME.com/data you would then be presented with a user name/password box, the user name would be data and password access

That feature is not supported in sme.
Instead your users can VPN into the server, logging in with their own username and password.
They can then map connections to ibays, access to ibays will depend on the group ownership (of the ibay) and group membership (of the users)you have set up.
