Topic: maillog and dates...

1) Where can I find a log file providing mail transactions (send and receive) with dates for individual messages?  did a search on it, cannot find it.  

2) Under logs, what is the syntax used for labelling of ancient logs, i.e qmail@4000xxxxxxxxxx?
