How about a tick box, next to every user, allowing you to delete  users in batches.

I know you can do this with the lazy admin tools, but you need a list of the users you want to delete. Surely it would be easier to flag all the required users for deletion and then just click "Delete".

Just an idea,
Rob.

Nothing stops you from witing a server-manager panel for that or a front-end for the lazy admin tools. I think the community would welcome that.

I wouldn't want to work in the organization, where users deleted not one by one, but you have to do it in batches and on the regular bases (regular enough to need automated tool for it)

.. i would think that for a school an equally pressing need would be easy group manangement as pupils move from year to year, and course to course.

Might be worth asking Michiel Blotwijk to extend his Lazy Admin tools to help out here.

This has already been in place since 0.7.1

lat-groups -r -c "microsoft | mats | smeghead"
Removes users "mats" and "smeghead" from group "microsoft".

lat-groups -a -c "contribs| Group of true believers |  | mats | smeghead"
Adds both users to the group "contribs". If the group already exists, the users are simply added. Otherwise the group is created first.

If you need to add/remove large numbers of users to multiple groups, you are better off using an input file. See man lat-groups and the examples in /usr/doc/lazy-admin-tools for details.

Here in the UK most IT departments in schools are run by last years English teacher and next years Maths teacher, in other words they have minimum skills. A tick box as RobH has requested to delete users and an imput screen to add users is as much as some can handle and would be agreat asset for these users, remember advanced uses still have other options to choose from.
