I just downloaded SME R6 using rsync (I've used FTP
in the past) by copying my R5.6 disc image to a
temporary R6.0 image. Not knowing much about rsync,
I presume that it checks the differences between
ISO images and downloads only what it needs. In
any case, I made a CD from the 6.0 disc image and
proceeded to upgrade my 5.6 system.
I was surprised to not come across the typical
"upgrade" screen at some point. It appears that
the R6 CD doesn't see the installed R5.6 on the
HDD and continues with a full install as if the
disc were blank.
Is this a system problem (my BIOS is old and
reports an incorrect disc size. 5.6 didn't
mind this)? or is it a problem with my download
and burn of the R6.0 CD?
