I've just installed Mailing List Manager web interface on sme 5.6. It was not hard to set up my first mailing list. In HOWTO from Ray Mitchell I've read that you can include a URL link in the message where the attachment can be downloaded.
Did anyone do that. I'm no good at writing the code, so I would appreciate some help.
Thanke you.

I think the comment you refer to at the end of the Howto was suggesting an alternative to attaching the file to all the messages.

Simply place the file on a suitable web site download area and then write your email message with a link in it to the file
eg
http://www.e-smith.org/docs/howto/contrib/ezmlm-webHOWTOforsme5.5.txt

There is no code to write, so I'm not sure what you are really asking ??

Hi,

Why don't you send the attachment along with the mail?

Ezmlm standard disables attachments of certain mime-types. Go to "configuration" to delete the mime-types you want to be able to sent.
Also change the file "/home/e-smith/ezmlm/list/[listname]/msgsize" if you want to send larger messages than 30K.

I was thinking that, when I send message with attachment to the list, attachment would be automaticly copied to some place accessible to list members and link to that attachment would be inserted in outgoing message. That would be appropriate for me because not all list members read the attached files  and I could save some bandwidth (I have just 128k upload).

I think it do not affect your own bandwith. The distribution takes place at the server of your Internet Service Provider.

Yes, I do to. I don't deliver outgoing messages directly to their destination. I deliver them via my  internet provider's SMTP server.
