Topic: Looking for application - Scanner (Papper, photos...) server

Hi,
I'm searching for a scanner server application that could be added to the SME server. With scanner I mean a scanner that scans paper, photos and such stuff. The main feature I'm looking for is a scanner attatched to the SME server and controlled via a "web interface" to start scanning, control the resolution, direct the scans to a email or a area on the server.

Background:
Axis has an Document server that is an network based scanner. http://www.axis.com/products/document_servers/index.htm
I liked that product but thought that it would be nice if that feature could be added into the SME server. The Axis box can send the scanned files to an email or an smb area and the configuration is performed via a web interface.

Is there anybody that has seen this type of OpenSource application?
