Does any one know what happened to v-cut.com? There was a how-to to set up a ssl sert from free ssl. The links reported in the forums seem to have dried up.

If anyone has a copy of this how to for ssl, I would appreciate it if you could either give me a link, or possibly post it.

Thanks

Bob

I just went to http://myipaddress:465

After about 30 seconds it popped up a message to accept certificate. I click more details and then saved the cert and installed it as a trusted site.

I changed the name of my server to "mail" from "esmith" so that the cert would be mail.myipaddress.com

Does not work for me. I grabbed an open ssl library  error from /var/log/httpd/error log trying to access port 465 on a 6.0 box

[Fri Mar  5 09:00:49 2004] [error] mod_ssl: SSL handshake failed (server intern.de:443, client 192.168.1.87) (OpenSSL library error follows)
