I am building a terebyte file server. I want to use the 3ware Escalade® 7506 Series "7506-8" along with 6 WD 250GB drives "Wd2500JB" on a intel xeon platform. Have anyone built a file server of this size using SME? and do anyone have suggestions. I will be using either a single or dual xeon motherboard with everything intergrated onboard (excluding raid controler).
Also i notice on the HCL that 7xxx series is on the RedHat 9.0 certified list and not on the 7.3 list. Will I have to rebuild the kernal or does the ver7.3 have the drivers in the kernal? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
the file server is for multimedia editing (TV Commericials and sorts).
