I have some new (old) hardware that I like to use for my private server. Currently I am testing to verify that it will work without errors.
It is a HP dual CPU PIII 500 MHz E60 server and 512 Mb ram with a HP SureStore T20 tape drive (Travan). Using SME 6.0 with software raid (all 9 GB SCSI drives, but also a IDE drive (not mounted) is installed)
If I do a fresh install and then configure a tape backup at default 2 AM, the server-manager hang in the morning. Also the attached CRT screen is black. Some things are working like the default web page, but all the administration is not working.
Looks like is is related to the dual processor system. When I boot up the system without support for dual processor, I see no problems.
I have tested the hardware with the official DiagTool for HP with no errors detected.
It may be a bug in the SME software?
