Topic: Effect on Virtual Domains if Primary Server Name is changed?

I want to change the primary domain name of the SME Server. No IP Addresses will be changed and I understand that primary and secondary DNS will have to be set up for the new domain name. A number of virtual domains are also on this server. Will there be any impact on their functionality and email if the primary domain name on the SME server is changed? Again for the virtual domains no IP addresses will be changed.

There shouldn't be any problem with their functionality when you change your primary domain. In fact I just did this a few weeks ago. The only thing that I didn't account for was that I had hyperlinks on my virtual domain sites' pages that was looking for my old primary domain. Just had to update that, but no biggie.. everything else stayed the same.

You won't have any problems with SME 5.6 either. It will function fine. Just keep in mind that whatever you change your primary domain to, it will point to the files in your primary ibay, so if you have your html pages with your previouse domain name, you need to edit them.
