i admin an e-smith gateway used at a netcafe. i've been looking for a method to allow laptop users to plug into our network, and be able to accurately charge them for data downloaded. i came accross the howto on contribs for netprobe, but it seems the current version of netprobe i downloaded (1.1b1) is a limited trial version, with a purchase cost of $300. there is no way i can get that past the manager, so is there an alternative way to get an idea of usage per ip address?
