« Reply #105 on: March 29, 2004, 11:29:31 AM »
When I try to create my own ISO, everything goes smooth until the very last order:

/root/smeserver/cdrom/devtools/buildiso smeserver-6.0.1-01

This is the error that I receive:

/usr/bin/mkisofs: Missing pathspec.
Usage: mkisofs [options] file...

Would anyone please let me know what this means and how to solve it?

thanks,

Can someone kindly clue me about SARG report?

Sarge report is the 'visual log' of squidguard internet filtering.  In there as time goes by you can view the history of all computers on your lan and their accesses.

Ok, so I've deleted files from a samba share. How do I get them back?

Sorry for being stupid n all but I just cant see where to look. the smb.conf doesn't appear to have any reference to recycle bins

Where are the controls for the esi-lanlord? Should there be a server-manager panel, and I've broken something?

The recycle bin should automatically appear in the folder from which you deleted the files.

There seems to be a problem with having this RPM install at initial install. You will need to uninstall and reinstall the RPM.

Tony

P.S. I will make the RPM available at http://www.keane.co.nz it is also available in the contribs section here.

Maybe the recycle bin RPM falls into the same boat? When I deleted something from the samba share it just deleted. No recycle bin appeared :(

I shall try uninstall/reinstall

Ok, so what I have just learnt is that the recycle bin works on the user's samba share, but not on the ibays that are shared. Any ideas on what bit of the box I need to hit to fix this?

The RPM places a custom-template in

/etc/e-smith/custom-templates/etc/samba/recycle.conf

I have not looked at what else it does on install.

The RPM also creates recycle.so in

usr/lib/samba/vfs

Silly Recycle Bin
« Reply #115 on: April 04, 2004, 11:26:27 AM »
Ok, I just don't get it. I've had a look at recycle.conf, and there is nothing there that would suggest anything about where it does and doesn't work.

I've had a look a smb.conf, and as far as I can tell, the only reference to a recycle bin is at the top of the file. So Im assuming that it should apply to all the shares. It doesn't tho.

Im starting to pull my hair out over this, what am I doing wrong?

I am just wondering how much interest there is out there for a custom ISO of SME with the following contribs installed as part of the install.

Backup2ws – Backup tool
Awstats – Web statistics tool
Update system – RPM update manager
Portopening – for opening firewall ports
Portscanning – for checking what ports are open
Serverstatus – for reporting on server statistics
Advanced workgroups – additional workgroup setup options
Dialup – modem configuration tool
Durep – hard drive usage statistics
Esi-lanlord – shows dhcp leases
Sarg – reports on users web statistics
Service control – allows services to be turned on/off
SME recycle bin – a samba shares recycle bin
Phpsysinfo – shows computer stats

These rpms and install scripts are also included in the ISO but are not installed.

Update RPM’s for PHP (Version 4.3.4)
Update for printer manager
Phpmyadmin – MySql tool
Proxy Pass – username and password web access
Squidguard – web filtering tool
Netjuke – web jukebox
Anti Virus – Clamav-amavis mail protection
Gallery – web photo album
Spammassassin – Spam fighting tool
Sarg activation script – the activation script for sarg reporting

Tony :-D

Hi, is there anyone who can confirm if the portopening contrib made by Darrell May and found here http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/dmay/mitel/contrib/portopening/SME5.6/ works on a SME 6.0.1-01 box in Server and Gateway mode?
I need to open some (FTP) ports to be able to telebank with the ABN AMRO OfficeNet Extra software and I used this commands in SME 5.5:

modprobe -r ip_masq_ftp
and
modprobe ip_masq_ftp ports=21,41,42,62,63

I only have a SME 6.0.1-01 in Server only mode for testing purposes so trying above commands and Darrell's contrib doesn't work because there are no active firewall rules in server only mode as I understand well.

So...my problem is, I can't testing it but I have to know :) Can anyone tell me if I can still use the above modprobe commands and/or the portopening contrib on the newest SME version?

TIA![/b]

Never mind...Darrell's contrib works fine on SME 6.0.1-01. You only need to install the dmc rpm and not the e-smith rpm (used with SME 5.6).

The ABN AMRO telebanking software works fine with this :)

just downloading it now for my home server (was on 6.0).
it sounds like its gonna rock (i have been using SME since v4 :-) )

if anyone is interested, once i have it installed & configured i can setup a bit torrent tracker for it and host it off of my server..... not that fast but once a few ppl d/load it from there the speeds should be quite good ;-)

In the mean time, http://hydr0g3n.kicks-ass.net/smeserver-6.01-01custom.iso (max 30Kb/s tho im only on 256K/bit Upload  :-( ) but another server cant hurt :-)

you can contact me on admin@hydr0g3n.kicks-ass.net :-D

Hello all

Congratulations for the discussion.

I have a doubt:

Can I perform a backup to workstation in my 5.6 and restore it in the new 6.0.1-custom instalation?

Will the configurations backed up in the 5.6 work well in the 6.01-custom?

Thank you
