Problems resolving hostnames on local lan
« on: March 19, 2004, 03:27:37 PM »
I named a WIN box while on DHCP off my SME server which had an ip of 192.xxx.xxx.x53.
I have sinced changed & fixed the ip of the WIN box to 192.xxx.xxx.xx4
Now when I try to ping this machine by name from windows machines on my LAN, they constantly looks for the old ip.
I have tried ipconfig /flushdns but this doesn't seem to be a windows problem as I have a freshly built machine and it has been told by my SME I assume to go and look for it on the old address.
I have rebooted the server to see if that would flush i'ts dns but no luck.
Any help appreciated
