Hi McMaGnuM,

I did it some time ago, and IIRC it was a straight installation into an ibay as for the ezpublish manual (normal installation, as they call it). I did it into an ibay simply because it was easier to test it right away, but I gave up on it once I realized that it needed a steep learning curve to make a site usable as I wanted it to. However, if css and things like that is your daily bred, you might find it powerful.

Thanks.

It seems to be quite difficult to use EZ-publish on SME...

I'm installing it on a clean RH9 server to see if it works there, and maybe I can get it to work with SME later.

Hi,

of course you can do as you wish, but I personally don't think it was difficult at all. If you follow the insatllation steps given here http://www.ez.no/ez_publish/documentation/installation/normal_installation/installing_ez_publish_on_a_linuxunix_based_system  you should not have any problems at all. All you have to do to test it is to create a new ibays, download and untar the ezpublish file into the html folder of the new ibays, delete the index.html from that folder, and then go to http://you.domain.name/newibays/ and follow the instructions that you see on the screen. It even tells you which permission you have to give to certain directories. Cannot be easier. If you want, I can try to write an how-to on it.

A How to would be great, Italo. I liked the looks of EZPublish and tried to install it (both ways) a cpl years back, but couldn't get it to work.

OK, I'll put it together in due time!
