After upgrade install server show s me this messages
You must reboot the server to activate any configuration changes that were made as a result of this restore.
I restartet server but nothing

I have the same problem.  Even after a reboot I get the same message.

This prevents me from doing a desktop backup.

I believe it has something to do with a having a tape backup system.  We didn't have this problem until we installed new hardware with a tape backup.

See if this helps at all.  From your console, re-configure your system, changing one setting, then letting it reboot.  When it comes back up, reconfigure it again and change the setting back and let it reboot again.

You could probabably do a
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-install or post-upgrade

/sbin/e-smith/signal-event reboot

and accomplish the same, I just don't know what post event to use.

I would advise against using the post-install as it will reset all your user accounts (voice of experience)
