Topic: Primary Domain Email cant connect in outlook

2nd post on this i am really seeking help here
Server Hard drive crashed today so i installed the contrib.org release of SME today. All looks great so far execept I cannot access my email via outlook on the primary domain name. I can access my virtual domain emails via outlook but not the servers primary domain email. I can access it via webmail however without problems and i can have the server manager configured to forward the primary domain emails to my residential isp account with no problems. But i still cannot send/receive from mydomain@myserver.com
please help.

Still cannot retrieve email via Outlook for the primary domain of the SME box running version 6.01
I had not had this problem ever before with previous versions and dont understand what could be happening.
Server is set up as server/gateway. Like previously mentioned I can access my virtual domains via Outlook and the Primary only through Webmail.
Please help if you have any suggestions.

The short answer is of course to just use webmail (I do).
The longer is really a request for specification of the problem.
When you create the Pop3 mailaccount in Outlook, do you denominate the server after the formula myserver.mydomain.com ? or just mydomain.com (the latter worked for me if I remember correctly)?
You are sure that you have entered username and password correctly ?
For mailing out the smtp-server should be mydomain.com too. Is it ?

. . and I should very much like to know how you access mailboxes on virtual domains using Outlook ? The whole idea is way over my head.

for my primary domain I have the pop3 server settings as the following
incoming = mail.mydomain.com
outgoing = mail.mydomain.com

username = account name
password = password

i used the same settings for the virtual domains and the virtual domains work fine.
These are the settings i have been using with SME for the past 2 years with no problems until now.

error messaage "outlook could not logon to the outgoing mail server (SMTP).The problem could be your server name, your server may require authorization, or your server may not support SSL. Verify your SSL setting under more options."
This is the test message you get when you intially set up the account in Outlook and click on the "test settings button"

still dont know why it wont work
