SMe Server 6.0.1 ISO file
« on: April 04, 2004, 11:46:13 PM »
I have downloaded and trialed one of the ISO files available over the www, with not much luck.

The ISO that I downloaded and burnt to a CD does not appear to have the auto-boot included.

Can anyone confirm the URL of an ISO file that has worked for someone.

Sounds like you have just downloaded and burned the .iso file to disk.
You need to burn the .iso disk as a cd image to disk.
Check out http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/How%20to%20burn%20the%20download%20to%20a%20CD

Thanks for your post, but I was already burning the ISO file as an Image (creates the file dir etc. on CD).

Am thinking it may be a dud ISO - can anyone recommend a URL for an ISO that has worked for them? Or any other advice?

Thanks for the reply, but I had thought about this and checked I was already burning as an Image.

Can anyone confirm the correct URL for an ISO that has auto-booted from CD-ROM? Or have any other suggestions to where I am failing?

Have you run a check sum on the file you downloaded?

If you need help with this there is a howto in the wiki or check out http://www.keane.co.nz there are also links to downloads for a custom ISO there.

You can take AJ's custom iso from http://www.ideast.dk/sme/ajkeane/CustomSME/
Two alerts, though !
The max. upload is 512Kbit, and there are no md5sum files since the mirror, from which it was rsync'd, has broken down.
Discarding those two points, I can tell you that the iso works !

Btw. If anyone can point me to a working mirror (for daily rsync), let me know.
Greetings

Clean forgot !
I have the Contribs-area rsync'd also!
If you like the standard-release iso better, its there too (with md5sum).

Another "mirror" for the Custom iso

http://geekzone.dk/filer/smeserver-6%5b1%5d.01-01custom.iso.iso

Also with a 512Kb upload  :-)
