Old mail messed up after restore
« on: April 06, 2004, 04:34:12 AM »
I made my backups using Arkeia and then restored it to a new hard drive with 5.6 on it. Everything works great only some of the old mail isn't readable. The from column says "From &nbsp:" and the subject column says "Subject [No Subject]". I thought I'd found a solution for this before on the site but that was before everything was moved to contribs.org. What's even stranger is that some users can read their old mail via webmail but not via Outlook.

I get to post the answer to my own question again? Seams like I got better answers to my questions when this form was with Mitel. Anyway the solution was to delete all exsisting mail. [Make sure you can't get any new mail while your working on this.] After I deleted it I simply reran Arkeia and made sure that under the "Restoration Options" I had "by user name" checked in the "Restore file ownership properties". Make sure that "Restore access rights" and "Restore modification date" are also checked.
