QOS for SME Server??
« on: April 06, 2004, 03:39:58 PM »
Is there a way to limit a users bandwidth from the internet and/or a way to block all ports from the internet?

I want to block a user from using Kazaa/Torrent and I would like to limit the bandwidth usage from the user to say 19600bps.

Can someone help me with this? Or is there a utiity that I can use to do this?

Thanks
Carlos

Hi does it work for SME Server 6.0.1-01?

I can't get it for SME Server 6.0.1-01 - it seems to fail in the installation procedure?

Is there a documentation I have missed?

Hi, I've think there is something wrong with this contrib (for SME 6.0.1-01).

If I install with:
 rpm -install eneo-qos_cbq-0.1-05en.noarch.rpm

does it install without problems but it does not work - the bandwitdths for up- and download are zero.

And when I try to uninstall the rpm (# rpm -e eneo-qos_cbq-0.1-05en.noarch.rpm) do I get this:

error: package eneo-qos_cbq-0.1-05en.noarch.rpm is not installed

hi carlosp,
Sorry man.......I could not get back to you......Actually I have uninstalled that rpm (qos_cbq).....it was giving some trouble to the port 25. It was blocking port 25 some how......
As far as ur question, we can just control the bandwidth for a set of IP addresses. For individual IP addresses, we have to have a different rpm. I am also looking for that, if anybody can help........please
