Topic: Added Memory not showing

I know there was a thread a while back on this, but I could not find it. When I built my server up with 6.0 I had 256MB of RAM. I recently add another 256MB stick but the OS does not see it. The BIOS on the system sees it and I tested boths sticks out with another OS with no problem.

Is there something I need to manually change for it to see and use the new memory? If so where?

Hi,

What kind of server are you refering to. Some server builders such as DELL have an option in the BIOS to limit the MEM to 256 MB. (OS INSTALL MODE) (And yes during P.O.S.T. it does show the the total mem installed although only 256 MB is used)

It has something to do with Windows NT having installation problems with systems with a lots of memory.

The system I am running is a Dell, but I have already checked that. I am actually running an older desktop " Dell GX100 PIII 933MHz". I have checked everything in the BIOS to make sure it is set.
