Topic: SME-server 6.0 VPN / XP client

I would like to join the group who has problems with VPN connections on version 6.0, and who knows of problems with 5.6.

Working with an 98/ME client there are no problems, but working with XP SP1 clients I can connect, but trying to get access to a library on the server, which I normally has access to, XP hangs with program does not answer.

Has anyone seen something like this ??

I have done several of these (v5.x and v6) and I find that I have to be particularly careful with the correct domain name during the initial configuration. Many places with existing networks and dns use <inside>.<mycompany>.com to represent the network on the inside interface. I have to use <inside>.<mycompany>.com in the domain line during configuration. Several situations require me to use a unique vpn server apart from the web and mail server. I have not been able to get them to work any other way.

Also, I consistantly find that the first time a correctly configured client vpn connection is made may take a very long time. I get coffee at that point, return, and it is connected. Subsequent connections are very fast.
