SMTP through NAT
« on: April 26, 2004, 10:20:00 AM »
I am trying to access an external SMTP server, and the client machine I am using is set up with an internal Ip address and the address of the SME server as its gateway.

If I try and access an external SMTP server I automatically get the SMTP server on the SME server.

This happens if i telnet to it or if I use an email client to send emails.

Can anyone else verify this and see if its a problem or if it's just me?

I amusing the latest contirbs.org release and have added the secure external SMTP option.

Thanks

OK I have tested it more and POP3 and IMAP all go through the server fine, but SMTP will not get passed through. It always defaults to the SME server, even if I turn off the secure SMTP settings.

Can anyone test this at all?
