E-mail : 2 diff users : jo@domain1.com and jo@domain2.com ?

plog99

Giving the following scenario :

- my SME 6.0 hosts domain1.com and domain2.com

- I ask my ISP to create MX records for both domains pointing to the same SME

- now, at domain1.com they want an e-mail  john@domain1.com

- but  at domain2.com  they also want a john@domain2.com

If I create a user account "john" ,  mails to domain1 et 2 will be delivered
to the same user ? Right ?

I guess that I have to create 2 accounts for each customer like  for ex:
"cust1-john" et cust2-john" and then....what ..? create e-mail aliases ?

Any idea ? Best practices ?

Thanks

Hi
Search on email two domains or see http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=21105.msg84293#msg84293 for a possible solution.
BTW you need to click on "Show all results" under the FORUMS results to see more - a right pain and not all that obvious IMHO.

It might be just easier for you to buy from dungog.net small contrib for virtual e-mail domain management ($33) and not to break you head over it. Its made specially for the cases like yours.

make them use a longer name that is unlikely to be duplicated ie. jsmith@domain1.com and jdoe@domain2.com

then create groups for all users of domain1 and domain2
