phpwcms - any experience with this simple CMS?

Hi SME land!

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this simple web content management system (CMS)?

http://www.phpwcms.de/index.php

I'm looking at it at the moment, but would need to run it off our SME 6.0.1 server. Thus interested in installation / setup experiences as well as ease of day to day use.

Any suggestions / feedback on other _simple_ web CMS would also be appreciated.

Thanks! :-)
Rishi.

Just some quick feedback for anyone who is interested in content management systems (CMS). I tried this one out and it is very easy to setup on SME server, although it would run better with easy ways to install Imagemagick and Ghostscript on SME6.0.1.

Great little CMS with good file and image management and lots of content type options. If you are looking for something you can master quickly I'd recommend it.

Cheers,

Rishi.

I am looking for a good CMS and recently found phpWCMS...

How did you get Ghostscript and Imagemagick working?

I didn't!

 :-?

It seems to work OK without them...?!

There are contribs available that install ghostscript as a part of installing network PDF printers (using CUPS etc) but these all seem to be for SME 5.x versions and I am running 6.x so haven't tried them out.

These are mostly for automatic formatting / resizing of images you upload through the CMS interface, as far as I can work out. My workaround is to pre-shrink my images before getting it to upload them... Not the best I know, bound to cause problems with in-experienced users. Let me know if you figure this one out...

Cheers, Rishi.  :-)

FYI, the ghostscript build I made for CUPS can be installed on SME 6 and it can be installed without installing CUPS. Its only requirements on top of a standard SME 6 install are libtiff and cups-libs.
