Im trying to get my E-Smith box working on an existing network (at my University).
I have one of my windows box's working fine with the config that has been given to me, its just whenever I try using the e-smith box (i.e. ping my gateway) it just says network unavailable.
Here's what I have been given:-
Static IP - entered in the static ip section.
Hostname - not using (not sure if I have to, or where to put it, I think is just for WINS)
Subnet - well duh...
Gateway Addy - duh...
DNS servers (2 of) - I entered one in the DNS section of the config (not sure If I need to or not, either way isnt producing results)
WINS servers (2 of) - (No place to enter these in config, though I dont need them on my windows boxen for it to work)
So... setup looks like this..
Uni Network (Static IP's) --> E-Smith Box (server/gateway mode) --> Hub ---> Other Boxes (DHCP)
Any ideas why this wouldnt be working?
Do I need to put any thing in the DNS section or not? (Im guessing so)
