Topic: modem won't reconnect unless I reboot SME 6

We just moved, and are using dialup for a few days till the HiSpeed is installed.

I'm using a USR modem ( I have a good setup string! ) and it connects first try, stays on line. On other systems, I got automatic reconnect.

However, if I disconnect, I can't get a reconnect either by testing internet access, or by issuing a network restart.

I can't find a template or config file that controls this, what am I missing?

My SME 6.0.1-01 added a dialup panel with a modem reset button.
Otherwise try resetting modem with minicom. ip up & down scripts are in /etc/ppp/
