Does SME support macOSX client? -wrong files show in folders

akeech

The previous macOSX post is mine. Thought I was logged in.

Problem is file sharing from 6.0.1 works with macOS9 but not OSX. Contents of folders get mixed up when browsing folders from macOSX.

Some of the correct files show up and also various other files appear that should not be there but should be in differnt folders. The files have not moved on the SME!! They are still in the correct place.

This is a serious problem because if I move files and folders around from the OSX client the files that show on screen are moved not the original folder contents. AAgh!!

Huge mess pending!!

Has anyone else experienced this?? Is anyone else using SME 6.0.1 for macosx file serving without problems?

Any comments appreciated

I use Mac OS X and Windows pc's with SME and have no problems. But I use SMB connections for Mac OS X instead of Appletalk. I do recall having similar problems when accidently connecting to a new share with Appletalk but blowing away the shortcut and recreating it as an SMB connection resolved it.

I use SME 6 with Mac OS X (panther) and have experienced similar difficulties.

Another infuriating problem is when browsing the contents of an ibay via the Finder, the files and directories seem to disappear when you select them (most alarming the first time it happened!).

To resolve it, I've had to unmount the disk (or ibay) and remount, or use the Terminal. This is when connecting via AFP, so perhaps the solution is to connect using SMB as RayG suggested.
