It would be great if there was a announcement forum or some "what's new" pane so that new contribs and releases might show up in a more efficient and selective manner
there is the "new posts since last visit"  so that is what I mean for posts - so maybe something for contribs as well.
 
also could the forum "remember" me say for auto log in  and for not so quick kicking out due to timeout - say an hour or two would be better

there is an option in "Edit Account" that let set your login in a cookie.
just try it.

Ian has suggested adding a forum thread for howtos/contribs that are new and/or work with SME 6. This would work as an announcement, and would keep it up near the top as long as folks were responding to it. He posted an example for feedback here in "Suggestions", so how about giving him some? Thanks!
